Our wonderful friend, colleague, and theater insider John got us tickets to the Saint Louis University student theater. We're going this Friday night. I don't think we've gone to a show since that weird Greek tragedy we went to last year, where people kept laughing in really inappropriate places, and my cell phone (which had gone through the washing machine) was making death throe noises that I couldn't stop. Hopefully this time will prove less eventful. Besides, Britney Spears played the lead in the off-Broadway production. It's only fitting I celebrate her returned mojo and subsequent dumping of Fed-Ex by supporting this musical. I'm trying not to remember the disastrous time I went to a David Mamet play solely because Madonna played the lead role off Broadway.

Eight year-old Tina Denmark will do anything to play Pippi Longstocking in her school musical - including murdering the leading lady. This aggressive, outrageous musical received rave reviews during its long Off-Broadway run, which opened with Britney Spears in the lead role. Critics call it, "malicious, delicious and a total joy," and "loaded with campy wit and charm."
